Freddy and Buster, two rats from the 1000
Rats Rescue who came home with me, were neutered and now
finally meet their step-sisters, Janey and Zuzu, two girls who have
been with me just over a year. The big Martins cage was set up and
introductions were made in a different, (smaller) neutral cage for a
couple hours which went very smoothly, so smoothly in fact, I moved
them into the Martins sooner than I planned and everything has went
very well.
Janey and Zuzu are my first rats who are locked up 100% of the time
(usually the rats get an open cage on the high table with barriers and
are cool with it but these two would get off the table and destroy the
walls and I just couldn't get them to stop so they had to be locked up)
so the boys will have to be locked up too. However, they are in a nice
big cage and all four seem to be getting along wonderfully.

All four have been bouncing around the cage inspecting stuff and
meeting each other. The next day, I let them out on the table for the
first time to walk around (supervised somewhat) for a while and that
also went very well. Of course, they will have to be locked up again.
Janey and Zuzu would like nothing better than for me to leave the cage
door open all night so they can get to the floor and eat some dry wall
again.
