String is fun. For a simple, foot long piece of string and a few baby rats, you can find hours of enjoyment. Like little kittens (cats), rats will chase, bite, pull and play with string until you tire out. For a while, I had almost all of the babies wrestling for the one piece of string. I actually got them to tug-o-war between themselves.

Even mom was getting into the act. They would grab onto one end of the string and I would pull it, causing the rat to walk on his hinds legs for a few inches. It was hilarious to watch.

In this family "king of the hill," Felix is in the center. For some reason, all the rats including Brook just started piling on each other. I quickly grabbed the camera and just got it. The babies climb over their dad a lot and he doesn't seem to mind.

Hercule says "hello."
