I don't have exact birthdates for either Thelma or Swirl, but it was about Feb. of 2000 that they were both born. So today, we celebrated their birthday with a little cake. With rats, it's more fun to watch them eat and get filling all over themselves than it is to actually eat.
It took a while to get Swirl to come out so Thelma got a head start
on the cake.
I couldnt' find my dang candles so we had to settle for the one huge
one.
Swirl and Thelma enjoy birthday cake. Both girls
have outlived their children (that have been with me. I know at
least one of Swirl's boys still lives in San Diego).
This picture is totally typical of Golly and Posy. They both fight
over the big
chunk. They wanted to take it and stash it in their various corners
of the room. Golly
kept winning but everytime she'd start to run away with the cake, I'd
stop her and put
it back.
Thelma, Golly and Posy enjoy cake. Hmm, cake.
Thelma when she first sees the cake:
"What do I do?"
"Oh, I eat this. Hmm, cake."
Eppy, Lily and Posy have cake.
Of course, there's Golly in the lower left corner, trying to steal
a big piece again. She has no manners. And it's not even her
birthday either.
Daisy and Posy lick the frosting off my fingers. Notice the frosting
on her nose. Swirl enjoys what's left on the dish.
Daisy: "Is it okay that I brought this piece here?"
