When I finally got home from the holiday weekend, I set up a ten gallon tank for Lucy to raise her babies. Always hesitant to let me pick her up at first, she would finally give in to my scratching her behind the ears, so despite the fact I’ve only had her for a couple days, she’s getting pretty human friendly. I’m hoping she’ll quickly gain my trust so as the babies get older, she won’t mind me picking them up.
I set up a box for her to keep the babies and threw a couple mouse toys in the tank. Of course, she moved the babies to one corner by the plastic “log” and set up a barricade. But she seems to like the tank a lot, exploring all the time and getting less and less afraid of my hand as I go to pet her. I’m keeping the tank on my desk next to my computer for a while, just so I can keep an eye on her and her babies. Hopefully I’ll be able to sex the babies soon.
