Lucy’s babies are doing real good. Their colors are starting to show and they’re moving around a lot. Lucy has their area barracaded pretty well so the only way for me to really see them is to move stuff around, which Lucy doesn't like at all, but it’s the only way.  At this point, I’m starting to handle the babies everyday so they’ll be human friendly as they grow.

 Lucy is starting to get a little bit more friendly too. She still puts up a little bit of a fight when I try to hold her, but each time it’s less and less.  I’m glad she only had six babies rather than 12 or more, as it’s not as much work for her as a bigger litter would be and since I believe Lucy’s kind of young herself, it’s better for her healthwise also.  For a first time mother, she’s doing real well. She’s getting lots of veggies everyday, mouse food and special mouse mixtures (rice, oats, other stuff).   She’s pretty active all day also. I tried to put another girl in there with her (from my community tank) but Lucy wasn’t real receptive to having to share her tank, so I left her alone with her babies.  So far, everything’s well.
