Why rats? Rats are superb companions. They can learn their names. They can do tricks and are very human friendly. They're clean animals and very smart. They come in various colors and don't need a lot of space. They're quiet and affectionate. People who live in apartments or small residences can get much enjoyment from a rat as a pet. They're devoted and playful. They're like little puppies that never grow up. For the price you pay to own a rat, the delight you get in return makes it far and away the greatest pet value ever.  Rose has  figured out how to jump onto my dresser.  That is, until I put this cardboard up.  (Rose: 12/00 - 12/13/01) April is a lion on the hunt! They love to climb inside and could end up getting crushed if you don't see them.* Take as much video of your rats as possible, especially if they're little. Believe me, you'll be glad you did. * Name your rats names that sound DIFFERENT, like Joe and Frank, rather than Joe and Moe. They will learn their names, but you'll make it harder for them if the names sound too similiar.
